This delightful little trinket or keepsake box is a lovely Art Nouveau inspired piece from O. Tupton. Entitled 'Music be the food of love' this depicts a lovely little cherub sat on an open book playing his instrument. Oliver Tupton is one of the UK's most diverse artisans working today and who's work is becoming very collectable, this piece bears the impressed makers mark. Cast from soid resin and finished in cream and gold, intended to resemble the antique ivory and gilt bronze which was used in the originals. If you could find an original piece such as this in good condition you would have to pay a significant sum in a high street antique shop or auction house, this however gives you the Art Nouveau look at a very good price. This measures 16cm/6.5 inches tall by 11cm/4.5 inches square and the lid lifts off completely to reveal the unlined interior.
